Financial security is important for any family because it provides a foundation for stability, well-being, and opportunity. Individuals who have loved ones that depend on their income face a unique set of challenges, whereby their unforeseen death can have a devastating financial impact on the lives of their loved ones.

Life insurance is particularly important for these individuals, as it will help their loved ones manage their financial obligations, cover funeral expenses, or maintain their standard of living, in the event of their demise. However, life insurance can be complex and expensive. That’s why we’ve made EzyProtect, a simple and affordable protection plan.

Who can apply for EzyProtect?

You can purchase EzyProtect for yourself, or a loved one. The person who purchases the life insurance plan and pays the premiums is called the “Policy Owner”. The person whose life is insured under the policy is called the “Life Assured.”

This means the Policy Owner may or may not be the same person as the Life Assured. For example, a parent may purchase EzyProtect for their child, with the parent being the Policy Owner and the child being the Life Assured.

The Life Assured’s age must be at least 5 years old, but not older than 70 years old (age next birthday), for the application of EzyProtect.

What is EzyProtect?

EzyProtect is a non-participating Yearly Renewable Term (YRT) life insurance plan catered for people who are looking for a simple and affordable protection plan.

It offers basic coverage for both non-accidental and accidental death, including accidental death in Public Conveyance (accidental death while using public transportation), up to the age of 80 (next birthday). Additionally, it includes a funeral expense benefit to ease the financial burden of your final arrangements.

EzyProtect is a no medical underwriting product, making it quick and easy to apply.

EzyProtect is automatically renewed and as long as the premium is being paid before the due date, the coverage will be provided. This is a great option for people who are looking for affordable life insurance coverage that is easy to apply for and for those who seek both non-accidental and accidental death coverage with funeral expenses.

How much will it cost?

You can pay for EzyProtect monthly or annually. This continuous payment is called a Premium, which lasts until the policy term ends (either when the Life Assured passes away , or when the Life Assured’s age reaches 80 on their (age next birthday), or when the Policy Owner cancels EzyProtect).

The premium amount of EzyProtect depends on the Life Assured’s age, gender, and the chosen plan, increasing each year as the Life Assured gets older.

For the age of 30, the premium could be as low as RM11.25 per month (male), or RM6.19 (female) for RM25,000 Basic Sum Assured. We reserve the right to change the premium for EzyProtect by giving you 90 days' notice.

How much protection will me and my loved ones get?

The Basic Sum Assured (BSA), also known as the guaranteed amount of money paid upon the Life Assured’s death, ranges from RM25,000 to RM100,000 depending on the plan you choose.

Non-accidental death benefit

  • 1st Policy Year: Refund of Total Premium Paid (TPP) without interest
  • 2nd Policy year & onwards: Pay out 100% of BSA or Total Premium Paid (TPP) without interest, whichever is higher

Accidental death benefit¹

Pay out 250% of BSA or TPP without interest, whichever is higher

Accidental death in Public Conveyance benefit¹

Pay out 350% of BSA or TPP without interest, whichever is higher

Pay out 5% of BSA

This is a non-participating Yearly Renewable Term (YRT) life assurance plan providing insurance coverage for non-accidental / accidental death or accidental death in Public Conveyance, to the Life Assured up to age 80 next birthday. In addition, the plan provides funeral expense benefits in the event of death. This product does not have any cash value and is offered without medical underwriting. EzyProtect will be automatically renewed every year as long as the premium is being paid before the due date.

Anyone aged between 5 and 70 (age next birthday) who is interested in a protection plan.

This plan is renewable up to age 79 next birthday and the coverage will cease when the Life Assured reaches the age of 80 next birthday.

You can choose to pay your premiums annually or monthly. Payments can be made via Credit/Debit cards.

The minimum Sum Assured is RM25,000 whereas the maximum Sum Assured is RM100,000.

No, there are no riders attachable to EzyProtect.

Yes. You may cancel your insurance coverage at any time by giving a written notice to the Company. When you cancel your policy after the free look period, the cancellation will take effect on the next premium due date. There is no surrender value for this plan.

  • In the event of death from suicide, occurring within thirteen (13) months from the Policy Issue Date or Date of Reinstatement, whichever is later, whether the Life Assured is sane or insane, our liability shall be limited to the refund of premium paid without interest, and the policy shall be terminated thereafter.
  • The policy shall not cover death caused directly or indirectly, wholly or partially, by any one (1) of the following occurrences:
    1. the Life Assured dies by duelling or self-inflicted injuries, whether sane or insane within thirteen (13) months from the Policy Issue Date or Date of Reinstatement whichever is later; or
    2. the Life Assured dies while committing an unlawful act or by the hands of justice.
    On occurrences of any of the above events mentioned in item ‘a’ and ‘b’, our liability shall be limited to the refund of premium(s) paid without interest, and the policy shall be terminated thereafter.
  • The policy shall not cover accidental death caused directly or indirectly, wholly or partially, by any one (1) of the following occurrences:
    1. assault or murder; or
    2. riot or civil commotion, strikes or terrorist activities.
